SHRIMAD BHAGWAD SEETA CHAPTER SEVEN

Ath saptamoadhayaye

Om shri parmatmne namah

Shri Bhagwanouwach:

mayyasakatmanah parth yogamyunjan madaashrya I

ashanshayam samagram mam yatha gyasaysi tatchhrirhu II

gyanam teaham svigyanam vakshishyami asheshtah I

yajgyatwa neh bhuyoanyad gyatawyum avshishyete II (1-2)

Lord Shri Krishna says:

Parth! While devoting your mind to me, meditating me and taking my shelter, how you will know me completely, that you listen from me.

I will narrate you the knowledge along with its science, on knowing which, nothing more remains to know.

It is not possible to know Lord/ Self without a complete surrender of desires unto him.
It is not a surrender of body as usually understood in worldly parlance. It is surrender of one’s association with material nature, its qualities.

Mind devoted to self, complete surrender of desires and meditating him,

How one can know ‘self’ alone, this secret being unfolded.

This is complete knowledge and its science, on knowing which nothing remains to know.

This is not worldly knowledge rather it illuminates the truth about it and how every thing is being done and being dominated by self.

manushyanam sahareshukashchit yatayati sidhiye I

yatatamapi sidhanam kashchitmam veti tatwatah. II (3)

Lord says that out of thousands of the human beings, one may try to realize and attain the self/god.
Out of those making efforts, only a rare knows me completely.

It is a revelation of a stark and bitter truth.
The attachment factor is so deep rooted that embodied soul is not ready to know itself because the ‘ego’ about the self being embodiment.
Its complete identification with modification as body makes it unidentifiable.
Sages who have attained this , have been trying to make the human beings to know their true ‘selves’ but none is going that way making space for darkness to stay.

bhumiapoanlo vayu kham manoh bhudhirev ch I

ahankaram etiayam me bhinnah parkriti ashatdha II (4)

Earth, water, fire, air, space, mind, intellect, and ego are eight folded different type of my nature.

Lord unfolds eight types of his transient nature. There are two types of nature of which self takes shape.
Unanimated and animate
But both are the shapes which the self has transformed into. Lord unfolds eight types of his transient nature.
Earth, water, fire, air and ether along with mind set, intellect, and ego are unanimated nature; it is unanimated nature of Lord Krishna. These are not different from the self.
This is the knowledge which is the crux of this chapter whereby a seer can realize his own self.
That is why it is knowledge which discovers existing truth which is a sort of science of true nature of self.

aparmayam itastuanyam parkritim vidhi me pram I

jeevbhutam mahabaho yayedsm dharyate jagat II (5)

Oh Mighty Armed! Another superior nature of mine is the individual soul nature whereby I create and hold this universe

The other nature is animated individual soul nature of the almighty self whereby this universe is created and sustained by self.

Now it is abundantly clear that self/supreme self divided itself in two forms to play with itself and enjoy with itself.

This not deliberation of seers or philosophy enunciated by some persons who have discovered something new and they formulating some fiction.

It is the voice of eternal self who came to bestow deliverance on earth, cow and learned from the misdeeds of wicked.

It is simple statement for those who pray for and want deliverance.

Self is all pervading in all forms and spreading everywhere and in all directions.
It is not only to be seen but it is to be kept before oneself so that one is able to recognize one’s true self.

etatad yonini bhutani sarvarhinitiupdharay I

aham krisanam jagatah parbhavah parlayastatha II (6)

Presume all the beings held in the union of these two types of nature and I with these two forms of nature, create and destroy this universe.

These two animated and unanimated form of nature are the real cause of this whole universe.
What one can see or hear or has read about or heard of, all is outcome of union of these two.

These forms and beyond them, creating these forms, forming and transforming them.

This is self manifold, expanded in such a manner that it is not possible to count or access its modes.

One can be able to count particles of dust in entire universe in one’s life time but it is not possible in many lives like this to count the forms of lord.

World is daily changing its form and new species come into being , old still being subsisting and changing, going vanishing not to come back again.

What a wonderful phenomena, but one in human form and blessed with intellect, still failing to realize self.

Embodiment after embodiment by transmigration is resultant.

Life does not cease with end of body.

Mattah partram naanyat kinchitasti dhananjay i

Mayi sarvamidam protam sutremarhigarhaev ii (7)

Dhananjaya! There is nothing other than me; I am sewn in all this like beads of thread.

The Lord says that there is nothing except me all around.
i pervade this universe like beads of one length of thread are sewn in that length only.
While beholding beads a wise man can see only thread all around but an ignorant person shall see separate beads without looking at the reality of thread length.
Such an easy spectrum cannot realize by ignorant because of power of material nature pervading over them.
Without having inside glimpse of ones own ‘self’ ignorant sees different shapes and forms emanating from one another.

Ignorant sees difference in the shape of modification.

When embodied self soul sees different color, forms and action of self, it is confused about even its own identity.

Such is the inscrutable power of the qualities of nature that self souls have forgotten their true selves.
In upcoming verses Lord is going to further elaborate it.

the Lord has referred to a very simple example of a thread which can be understood even by a layman but the forceful qualities of nature are so interwoven around the individual self that it is not ready to shed the imaginative cloak of embalmment forcibly he has been put in him by his own foolishness of identification with material nature.
In the form of mind body set up which too is the part of this nature but identification tag put with that set has been constant cause of bondage.

Though this bondage can be shed in twinkling of an eye, but it is still difficult,

Miraculous indeed!

rasoapsu kontey prabhasmi shashsuryayo I
prhanva arvavedeshu shabdahkhe pourushamnrishu II (8)

Kontey! I am the juicy substance in water, light in the moon and sun

All pervading Onkar / Parnava in all Vedas, voice in space, and the strength in kings.

Here starts the modification of all pervading ‘self’ shortly described by the Lord Krishna himself.

Whatever nature produces it is the quality of self itself.

The fluidity of water is the depiction of Lord himself. None can see the butter- milk in milk but it is there unperceivable with naked eyes. Water changes its taste when it is mixed with other substances but fluidity never changes. It is an quality inherent.

Lord says he is present in Moon and Sun in the form of light.

It is not possible without self dwelling in them that these celestial stars send light to us.

It is the depiction Lord’s poweress.

In all Vedic scriptures the Lord is present in form of ‘Om’.
‘Om’ is the depiction of Lord. The lord himself is ‘Om’

This word is addressed before every verse of holy in Vedas.

Hollowness in the ether is the cause of sound reflecting.

If there is no hollowness or space, there can not be any sound or penetration. This is all modification of self alone.

The manliness in men is further proof of Lord’s presence.

If the self soul attached with embodiment is not able to perceive its own self, it is causing immense loss and bondage to itself.

This human body is true temple of Lord who despite your ‘ego’ is watching your every action, seated in your heart.

Recognize your self and be ‘self realized’, you are not this embodiment. You are consciousness / awareness, superior energy of Lord Krishna.

More qualities of Lord are coming up in the following verses which can make you feel presence of lord every where.

He is here, curious to locate you as a lost child.

He is trying to find, to bring you back in his spiritual service, but you conceal your identity by covering with veil of three modes of nature.
Tear off this fake veil bravely.
Human frame is given for short period.
It may even vanish next moment.
What are you waiting for?
None will guide you.

Pray the Lord, pray, pray and pray.

He will be kind to you. He will send you the guide. He comes in the grab of enlightened soul a ‘Guru’ in his form.

Punyo gandhah prithviyam ch tejashchasmi vibhavso I

Jivnam sarvabhuteshu tapashchasmi tapasvishu.II (9)

Arjun! I am the pious odor in the earth and brilliance in fire; I am life in all beings and austerity in men of ascetics.

Arjun! Know me the eternal seed of all beings.
I am intellect of the intelligent.

Lord is describing as to how he has imbibed the entire universe.

The odor which is the quality of earth is sign of lord’s presence.
Odor is one and when it is mixed with other peculiarities it turns that shape or smell like that but basic element is same.
One finds different odor in various flowers and fruits, liquids, air. Multifarious ness of odor expresses the presence of Lord himself
Depicting Lord’s presence is brilliance of fire.
Fire a basic element but despite being present all over, it hinges formation with change in substance.
The element of brilliance in fire is the inscrutable power of Lord
Life in all beings is their consciousness.
This consciousness is one without second.
It is the source of every thing the ‘Who’ ‘What’ ‘Where’ ‘When’ all are conceptual images in consciousness.
They are as real.
As any mirage or dream, the totality of manifestation, and every thing therein, or outside is consciousness.
This consciousness can be felt in all living beings.
This is termed as life.
Life or consciousness in all beings is the sign of presence of Lord infinite in all beings. This has never changed with the body.
That is why you remember childhood of body as your own.
You are also proud of your body’s beauty.

Austerity is the sign of presence of lord in persons practicing ascetics.

All qualities which show brilliance in any of these elements are depiction of infinite lord.

One has to develop sincerity in devotion to lord. Only then the perception on Krishna is possible.

A programme may be cast on any wave length but to see that programme one has to have TV set and its connection.

Krishna is present in every particle and between them too.

One cannot see a TV programme without TV, though available in form of mind and intellect, without tuning TV. set, at particular wave length.

Without deep devotion and complete surrender one can not see Krishna present in every object and between objects.

balam balvatam chaham kamragvivarjitam I

dharamvirudho bhuteshu kamoasmi bharatarshabh II
(10-11)

Infinite self has no form but the lord infinite is the eternal seed of all beings. He says that I am the intellect of all wise.
I am the glory of glorious.

Aruna! I am the might of mighty, free from passion and desire; not conflicting with the virtue, I am the sexual desire in all beings.

Infinite self has no form but it is the eternal seed of all beings.

Why then ego of embodiment?

It is the self soul which has identified itself with body, mind and intellect.

It follows the intellect like a meek he monkey following a she monkey.
The actual difference is not perceptible unless one has inclination to it, by the blessings of guru and grace of lord.

Seen from the intellectual eyes, it is quite difficult to separate mind, ego and intellect, as they are so inter mixed that they are inseparable.

But with the departure of others’ bodies one can easily infer as to what was in the body, with the departure of which from this body, even dear ones are not ready to keep it for day or two.

Then one reaches a definite conclusion that it was spark of consciousness which was ignored during life time.

Awareness / ‘consciousnesses’ ignored in life time and life is wasted in sense gratification, nurturing body and accumulating wealth.

What is this life time?

Lord in form of eternal time is consuming every thing, every being. But no one is ready to recognize this reality.
So Supreme Self/ Supreme Infinite/ Lord is the supreme eternal cause of all beings. Ego of embodiment being self imposed is by attachment. These ego caused by identification is the root cause of doubt.

Now self soul attached with embodiment asserts that

‘I am intelligent.’

Lord says that I am the intelligence of all intelligent.
Intelligence is the same as a phenomenon.

It is an element, an eternal depiction of self.

So intelligence is the Lord himself.

These eternal elements can only be comprehended by devotion and wisdom blessed by lord.

All the great men have experienced it and they have served this humanity only with this perception that Lord is imbibing in all beings

And he is the super intelligence of all so called intellects, superseding all personified intelligence.
Of the glorious he is the glory.
In chapter ten the lord says:

yadyadvibhutimatsattvam shrimadurjitamev va i
tattadevagachh tuvam mam tejoanshsambhavam ii (10.41)

Every thing which is glorious, brilliant and powerful, you know, that is manifestation of my glory.

Every thing glorious is the further depiction of lord and his presence. But we have no time to stand and stare the beauty of Lord in every thing because of our ego and identification with body.

Neither body which we are not nor we have any relation with this dead body which is the result of past deeds and meant for going through them by way of fruits of pain and pleasure.

There is no end of divine manifestation of lord.

Strength is an element emanating from lord infinite.

He is the strength of all what is strong.

Omnipresent lord is super strength.
None can surpass it.

Great devotee Parhalad was tortured by his father Hiranakashapu. When many attempts made to kill him did mot succeeded, the Demon himself took his club to kill him. He asked Parhalad pointing out to a of his court,” Is your

Lord present in this pillar?

When Parhalad replied in affirmative the Demon struck pillar with club but to astonishment of all the universe, Lord appeared in form which was neither a human being nor a lion but mixture of both termed as unique Nursingh form to show His Omnipresence and love for his devotees.

Strength may vary from being to being but a human being may be proud of his strength at a particular time, but infinite Supreme Being there in all being’s strngth is not proud of his strength.

A person having immense strength may see himself in mirror and finding strong body, he may challenge the opponents. But eternal self having supreme strength has no inclination to be proud of this eternal element.

Why strong man loses his strength with passage of time.

The reason is apparent. Body is transitory and it decays daily. Strength is the eternal perception of Lord infinite. With decay of body it leaves the body and merges in the lord himself.

So if one embodiment has strength it is again a depiction of self.

With departure of self strong body too vanishes.

Desire for re-creation is the basic cause of sustenance of the world.
Two self souls mating incidentally or knowingly or by arrangement of nature or society cause assumption of new body from one body.

What an eternal experience of mother hood, only a mother can tell it.

Lord is the mother, father and grand father and greatest of the all fathers as he creates every thing through his eternal interaction with nature.
(See verse 9.17)

Ye chaiv sattvka bhava rajsaastamasasch ye I

Matt eveti tan vidhi na tuaham teshu te mayi II

Tribhirgurhmayerbhavebhirebhi sarvamidam jagat I

Mohitam naabhijanati mamebhayah paramavayayam II (12-13)

Know all the states of being goodness, passion and ignorance- are manifestation of my energy. I am every thing but I am not under the control of any of the modes of my material nature, on the contrary they are within me.

The whole of this creation is deluded by these objects of nature- sattavic, rajas and tamsa; that is why this world fails to recognize me standing apart from these and imperishable.

Entire universe is the result of inter action of self soul with three modes of nature. Verse 40 of chapter 18 is self explanatory in this context

Na tadasti prithviyam va divi deveshu va punah I
Satvam parkritirjermuktam yadebhi sayatribhirgurheh II

There is no being on earth, heaven and again among demigods who is free from three modes of materil nature viz purity or goodness, passion, and ignorance.

All beings are after effect of attachment of self souls with three modes of nature and they remain activated by them.

All these modes are emanating from supreme infinite Lord Krishna but he is not affected by these modes of material nature.

As they are his manifestation they are under his control.

The Lord is Nirgunah.

So is the self soul living entity, consciousness free from all these modes except for identification.

Lord Krishna is the creator of the material nature and is never affected by these modes.

The self souls which is the unique creation of almighty, establishes their relation with these modes by identification with mind and intellect. They are bound; otherwise they are ever free like the lord himself.

The three modes of material nature are always present in every aspect of creation.

There is variation of presence as described in chapter 14 of this text.
Lord being beyond the parameter of these modes is invisible to the self souls because of their identification with the modification of material nature. Imperishable Lord is present in all beings and non-beings of this creation and he himself is their form enjoying all these modes but still a witness present in the hearts of all beings.
But his three folded divine power of modes is so powerful that it has kept self soul in its darkness.

Daivi heaisha gurhmayi mam maya durtayaya I

mamev ye parpadayante mayametam taranti te II (14)

This divine energy of mine consisting of three modes is difficult to over come, those who constantly pray me, they easily cross this divine power mine.

Lord is telling all beings that this power of lord is insurmountable but those who surrender unto him cross this divine and inscrutable power and ultimately goes to lord, their own self.

These modes act like a rope and the self soul opts itself to bind itself.

Nobody can tell the specific time as to when this bondage was inflicted by self soul on itself.

But one certain aspect of this human form is that the lord is extremely happy with the embodied self soul.
It has been very kindly bestowed with this human form having access to intellect or wisdom to now separate itself from the bondage by mere realization of this fact that embodiment is separate and he has no connection with it it is golden chance to detach itself from the actions and their fruits.

How to shed this bondage?

This is possible in two ways:

mukhayatah tu mahat kripa bhagwadkripalashdva
(Verse 38 of Narada Bhakti Shastra )

It is possible through the association of self soul with the other souls who have attained the realization of lord.

A person whose hands and feet are bounded cannot reclaim his freedom unless he is helped by a free man who may untie his rope and help him free.

It is the liberated soul who can guide a bonded soul to liberate itself.

Any kind of reading or meditation can not help the self soul to achieve this target.
Proper guidance of enlightened one is compulsory.

Uthishth, jagarat, prapya varan nibodhayat
(Kathoupnishad)

The other way is the lord’ own mercy which may come only through his own wish or on acceptance of prayer.

One important thing is that complete surrender makes lord to use his kindness and direct his inscrutable power of material energy to relive the conditioned soul.

na mam dushkritano mudha parpadayane naradhamah I

mayayaphritgyana asuram bhavamashritah II (15)

Those whose wisdom is shadowed by my inscrutable material energy and who have embraced demonic nature, such foolish and veil persons don’t adore me.

Those persons who are involved in materialism and eluded by passion and ignorance don’t adore Krishna, because they think embodiment as their own self. They call this body as their self in doing so they are very happy and proud of.

They also see inexhaustible supreme self Krishna as human being.

They don’t see and recognize their ‘conscious self’ an eternal part of supreme consciousness, the self of all beings and superseding every one.

They are carried away by ignorance and gross foolishness, caused by the three qualities of nature imbibing in them.

chaturvdha bhajante mam janah sukritnoarjun I

arrto jigyasurartharthi gyanich bharatarshabh II (16)

Oh best of Bharat! Arjun! Four types of devotees worship me, the seeker of worldly possession, the afflicted, and the seeker of knowledge and man of wisdom.

Lord Krishna says that four types of peersons render devotional service too him:-

1. Distressed

2. The person with desire of wealth or other worldly and material objects

3. The inquisitive

4. Who are searching knowledge of absolute?

They are all ‘sukritano’ which means pious or pure.
They are in any way devoted to the lord, the absolute infinite.
Even if in distress, the devotee remembers the almighty, though he is remembering Lord to alleviate his sufferings.
The second one always involved in furtive activities, comes to lord with prayer for material prosperity.
The bookish knowledge is dry and frustrating.

It does not give peace.

Knowledge of self is full of eternal peace. this is sat- chit-anand which is one’s own self and self of all.
One can feel it when one peeps into oneself leaving aside material desires.
Desire and hate are two factors causing all delusion.
Once one is free from these two dualities, one is immediately free and liberated.
Caring for nothing has been called ‘highest well-beaing’.
The man who has no desire, and cares for nothing, attains devotion to lord. This self soul becomes stone figure having all diminished all attachments.

Of these, the best is man of wisdom, ever established in identity with me and possessed of my devotion. for i am extremely dear to him and he is dear to me.

All these are noble but the wise man is my very self ; such is my view. For such a devotee is devoted in transcendental service, he is sure to attain me.

After numerous incarnations of various beings on attaining last incarnation as human form, the wise man surrenders to me realizing that I am the cause of every thing.

Why wise man is dear to Lord?

A man called wise in worldly sense is not necessarily wise spiritually.

A spiritual person never can be a worldly wise.

Spirituality requires purity of mind, and intellect, worldly wisdom requires deceit, conceit, lust for materialistic accumulation, pride, arrogance, anger, harsh speech and ignorance

Every thing emanating from material nature is transitory an d doomed to vanish,

Nothing can survive beyond its limit.

Only omnipresent supreme Self Lord Krishna is imperishable.

Wise man realizes this and sees sameness every where. even in cow, elephant, dog, human, in everything, he sees the perception of Lord, so this wise man is dear to Lord.

avinashi tu tadvidhi yen sarvamidam tatam I
vinashamavayasyasya na kashchitkartumarhasyasi II
(Bhagwad Geeta2.17)

Know that alone to be imperishable which pervades this universe: for no one can destroy this indestructible.

Supreme soul is all pervading and lord is not a particular embodiment. He can and has formed embodiments and plays a fixed role to show his particular poweress to enable the devotees to remember and chant his glories. The wise man realizes this fact of one and sees sameness of Lord present in all beings.

He does not hate or love any thing by establishing any relationship with it.

By this way he sees and feels the presence of Lord every where, in every object.

Even while appearing to be doing an act, he does not act as he is doing all this due to the nature pre-dominating the act of body which itself is the result of his past deeds.
if you love a human body or being it reciprocate your love or hate at a same wave length.

Lord is dear to all as their self.

He loves such a wise man that sees him in all beings and such wise man loves Lord as he sees him very near to him as his own self and self of all.

Necessarily their intellectual maligned by material desires, such eluded persons take refuge in Demigods and worship them in their own nature.

Whoever desires to worship a particular Form deep faithfully, I establish his faith in that form.

Due to that faith, he worships that particular Form and receives the desired results but through me only.

Lord is telling as to how people tend to worship Demi gods.
99.9% people have all their day to day life contaminated because of material desires.
Every one is searching peace of mind in material aspect of life which can not give peace but it may certainly cause pain and distress.

If it caused happiness at all it should be transitory.

With vanishing of that acquired peace of mind, one tends to go demigods to have his wished for material desires fulfilled.
These persons or beings deprived of real knowledge of self realization, affected by material desires, when want to meditate demigods; Lord Krishna establishes desired sincerity in the hearts of those ignorant to worship a particular form of demigods.
Vedas, the Holy Scriptures have laid down principles and regulation as to how attain material prosperity by worshipping a particular demigod.
Conditioned soul not eager to seek liberation seeks by passes to attain material prosperity.

Lord Krishna has assured full liberty to every self soul. He may go to his home or loiter in the material world.

For attaining emancipation from the vicious circle of birth and death Lord has directed all self souls to come to him by way of devotion to him and complete surrender unto him, but if a self soul prefers to remain in material domain by worshipping demigods, the Lord give them sincerity towards those demigods and assures fulfillment of desires by him though appearing to have blessed by that particular demigod.

The Lord here forcefully lays down that demigods are not able to give desired fruits. It is he only through whom all results emanate. Though the person desiring material prosperity worships a particular form of demigods to obtain the material prosperity he wishes. Lord himself establishes sincerity towards that form so that person can worship that form, sincerely.
By worshipping a particular form with faith, one gets his material desire fulfilled. But the arrangements for this fulfilment are the handiwork of lord himself.

Lord Krishna has insatiable thirst for devotional love.

He does not skip any chance to enjoy the love of devotee. In ninth chapter he reveals that:
Yeapianyadevta bhakta yajante shardhyanvitah I
Teapi mamev kontey yajantiavidhipurvkam II

Aham he sarvyagyanam bhokta ch parbhurev ch I
Na tu mamabhijananti tatvenatshchavanti te II

Yanti devandevvrata devanptrianyantiptrivaratahI
Bhutani yanti bhutejya yanti madyajinoapi mam II ( 9.23-25)
The devotees who owe allegiance to demigods, they too are engaged in the service of Lord Krishna. The reason is simply described in these verses.
Why Lord should to take trouble to fix sincerity towards a demigod. The lord had spread himself in these forms. Demigods are not different from Lord. In that form too, it is He who receives devotion but give its reward in fulfillment through the shape of demigod.
This is the reason he fixes faith towards demigods too.
The Lord himself establishes of faith and sincerity because, he has asserted in chapter 4 verse 11:
Ye yatha mam parpadayante tanstathev bhajamiaham I

Mam vartamanuvartante manushah parth sarvashah II

In whatever manner persons worship me, I reciprocate accordingly. Every one follows me in all circumstances.

This material prosperity is short lived. to show this the lord says as it has come through a demigod who himself is transient, material prosperity is transient, only Lord is transcendental, Omnipotent and remaining whatever we perceive is transient.

Verse 10 of chapter 10 of shrimad Bhagwad Geeta further elaborates this fact.

Aham sarvasya prabhavo mattah sarvam parvartate I
Iti matva bhajante mam budhah bhavsamanvitah II

I am the source of everything.

Everything originates from me.

Realizing this, men of wisdom worship me faithfully and whole heartedly.
Tenth chapter also describes the attributes wherein one can perceive the presence of Lord.

This confirms that ll material property is transient and wise men detach themselves from this in this life and liberates him.
It is not that realized person does not perform his duties of daily life. Even if one does not wish to perform routine duties of daily life they shall have to be performed because of one’s past attachment with modes of material nature.

Verse 60 of chapter 18 of shrimad Bhagwad Geeta emphasizes this:

savbhavjen kontey nibhadah saven karmarhah I
kartumnechhsi yatmohat karishayasiavashoapi tat II

Whatever you don’t want to do out of delusion, you will be forced to do that due to your nature.

All fruitive benefit thus obtained my meditating demigods are temporary.

antvatu tu falam tesham tadbhavatialpmedhsam I

devan devyajo yanti madbhaktah yanti mamapi II (23)

Lesser intelligent persons who worship demigods to obtain material prosperity, the results of their worship are temporary. Those who worship demigods to their respective forms, but my devotees attain me only.

Results of worshiping demigods to obtain material prosperity, is always temporary and transient. The so called worldly wise men who attracted by material nature do get the results through almighty himself arranging them through demigods, but this material acquisition is soon lost but devotion to lord takes the devotee to spirituality which is permanent.

Human beings have a choice.

They can either be in material energy or in spiritual energy.

To be in delusion means one is deeply affected by modes of material nature.

Those who are in complete goodness mode, they go to demigods but those render devotional service unto Lord Krishna attain freedom from birth and death.

Materialistic energy affects every aspect of life.

Lord Krishna assures service of his lotus feet, if one dispassionately devotes himself to Lord while living in the forest of materialism.

Not knowing my unmanifested and eternal supreme self of all, ignorant assume ‘eternal me’ as embodied and manifested one.
I don’t reveal myself to foolish; the deluded by my inscrutable Material Energy, this entire universe don’t know Me the unborn and infallible

The Lord is supreme eternal self of all.
He is present as soul in all beings as manifest.
He is also unmanifested,
When Lord came to earth in human form, every one coming across him, had a chance to see him but there were certainly very few devotee who recognized him as Supreme Self of all.

While playing with cowherds, the Lord performed many unusual feats but there were few who saw the reality.
Lord as soul is seated in every being but there are few who can feel his presence as self in themselves. Remaining is identifying them with dead body illuminated by consciousness.
Delusion caused by material energy is so massive that the presence of Lord can not be felt.

Lord is perceptible by devotees. Even a great warrior and devotee of lord Arjun is not able to recognize the supremacy and eternity of Lord Krishna till he saw the universal vision of lord.
Until then vision he considered him as Yadav, friend and Krishna.

In grossly materialistic atmosphere, the influence of inscrutable material energy of Lord is so powerful that one presumes Sun, Moon, and other celestial objects as the creation of nature.

One has to be spiritually empowered by taking complete shelter of Lord Krishna or his bonafide representative to seek his eternal revelation.

The persons who by dint of pious deeds in the past many births have become free from their sins, they liberated from the dualities, worship me devotedly.

Lord of universe knows what has happened in the past, what is happening at present and what is going to happen in future and lord knows all the living entities but none of them knows him

Lord Krishna is omnipresent, omnipotent, supreme eternity, self soul of all, every thing inanimate or animate, as such knows every thing that has taken place in past, happening at present and shall happen in future.

He is the beginning, end and in between of the entire creation:

sargarhamadiranshch madhyam chevahamarjun (10.22)

The Lord also says that those self souls whose sins have melted away due to their pious births in the previous incarnations, they become free from dualities created by desire and hate, as their desires are diminished.

With desires for relating to material accumulation dissipated, they worship lord with utmost devotion and determination.

Desire and hate are co-existing and if there is any disturbance in fulfillment of desire it creates hatred resulting a chain of actions and reactions.

With end of all desires for materialism, the self soul attains lasting peace. He can feel the presence of almighty every where and in all beings. Just as lotus leaf remains untouched by water even while lying in it, a desire less person ascribing every thing to Lord remains untouched by the evils of material undertaking he has to do to wipe out the fruits of his past attachment with material energy.

jaramararhmokshaye mamashritya yatanti ye I

te baraham tad vidu kritsanadhiyatam karam chakhilam II(29)

Striving for liberation from cycle of birth and death, those who take shelter in lord Krishna, they really know all transcendental activities, and they are that Baraham.

Those who have realized that this life is not the end of journey; this is actually a beginning after many thousand of years of desolation and despair. Now he may go to his home and resume spiritual service of Lord Krishna.

A slave seeking and getting freedom knows the taste of that freedom.

After a long stint of birth and death of different bodies which this self soul has left and attained, now taking complete shelter in the lotus feet of Lord, this awakened soul surrenders to Lord unconditionally.

This self soul knows all the transcendental activities. It is that Braham, a pure and crystal clear consciousness.

sadhibhutadhidevam mam sadhiyagyam ch ye vidu I

paryankaleapi ch mam te viduryaktchetsa II (30)

Those who know me the Supreme Lord, Governing Principal of Material energy, Demigods, and all spheres of Sacrifice, can understand me even at the time of their death.

Life is not transitory. It is continuous and constant. It has never ended nor is it going to end with a particular body of a being,
Rather death is the beginning of another life, a change to new cloth on shedding the older one. Verse 22 of chapter signifies this:

Vasansi jirarhi yatha vihaynavani griharhati naroprarhi I
Tatha sharirarhi vihai jirarhianyani sanyati navani dehi II

if one has to remain dressed in same clothes for the whole of one’s life, how disgusting it may be. no body will like it.
so is the soul. it takes new bodies but not per as its will or pleasure. but under the karmic arrangement of material nature, acting under the direction of lord Krishna.

Why usually one is afraid of death?

This is because of his attachment and identification with embodiment.

When the consciousness departs from body, it is death.

Death of a body not of soul, soul is eternal and never dies.

This exit from one body causes fear and pain to embodied soul identifying with modification
But once the self soul realizes itself, it can see the spectrum of Lord Krishna every where. Even in death of body he sees the presence of Lord.
It can see the Lord as controller of material energy, its evolutes, all kind of sacrifices, even at the time of death,
It can perceive the Lord and only Lord all around.

(Thus ends the seventh chapter consisting of wisdom and science of wisdom in Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta)
